Extendable Steel Truck Ladder Rack with 800 lbs Capacity, Adjustable 46-71 Inch Width, No-Drill Mounting
$ 64.35
Not difficult to install, but you do have to drill a couple holes, and take into account your truck’s specifics. I had to remove the tail light assembly to get a nut on the end of one bolt, straight up could not reach another one, and then I decided I could live with just one rack instead of two, because I’m resting my kayak on the roof anyway. I just don’t want to do that much drilling on my truck tbh. Structurally; don’t let the YouTube videos discourage you, people are just flopping the racks together and leaving them loose for convenience. You absolutely can tighten them up at every nook and cranny, where they will be as sturdy as a brick house. That’s what I prefer, so I threw the Allen wrench in my glove box for putting the rack up or down on the go. My favorite thing about them is that you can keep your tonneau cover. Huge plus! That’s the real reason I settled on this style rack. Take the top bar down, throw it in the bed and roll the tonneau back. No compromise being made here, and I think I’ll install the other rack on the left side of the truck. I mean let’s face it, at some point I’m probably going to get another kayak. lol. P.S. the instructions suck. The pictures are more helpful than the words.
